AP Physics 1 has become the most popular AP physics course taken by high school students in the U.S. since 2015 due to its relatively easier level compared with other AP physics courses. Physics is the most basic of the sciences. It deals with the behavior and structure of matter. The field of AP Physics 1 covers mechanics, waves and electrostatics. Mechanics is highly successful in describing the motions of material bodies such as planets, rockets, and tennis balls. Electrostatics discusses the cause and the effect of electric fields. A wave is the propagation of energy. There are many phenomena in nature whose explanation requires us to understand the concepts of vibrations and waves.
