Spencer, Mark, and Beth each have over thirty years of experience in teaching at both the high school and college level in subjects such as algebra, trigonometry, calculus, biology, chemistry, physics, reading, and writing.  The three of them share the same three goals.  First, they want to help students excel at school.  Second, they want to convey to students the sense that the knowledge they obtain isn’t just historical, but widely applicable and relevant to what they will study in the future—to new developments in science and technology, language and literature. Finally, they want to provide students with the insights and tools that will enable them to fulfill their goals.

Spencer has over thirty years of experience teaching high school level math as well as college level biology, chemistry, physics, and calculus.  One goal of his class is to provide a broad overview of the principles and real life applications of math and science.  In order to achieve this, he shows the close relation between the observations of theories of scientists, the discoveries they make in laboratories, and the way these observations can be seen in every day life at both the micro and macroscopic level.
